- Name or screen name? (if you use a screen name, is there any significance to it?)
My name is Adrienne, hence the screen name.

- How did you find this message board?
Through a link posted in the comment section of a post on the Feministing Community Blog.

- Age, gender, family status (married, single, in a relationship, have kids, etc...)?
30, female, childless by choice

- Are you a diet survivor or are you in recovery from an eating disorder?
In recovery

- Got any hobbies or interests?
Yes, many. My cats and dog, reading, writing, reading some more, reading a lot, sewing, and being outside.

- Where do you live or where did you grow up?
I grew up in Michigan, currently live in Oklahoma.

- Are you in or did you go to college? What was your major? And/or what do you do for a living?
I got my Bachelors in Sociology and Women's Studies.
Will have my Master in Sociology next May.
Currently, I do public affairs work for a progressive non-profit and also am a full time Grad Student.

- Do you have a favorite quote?
I have a lot of favorite quotes, but I do enjoy this one by Ani Difranco - "Everytime I move I make a women's movement."

- Who are your heroes or people you look up to?
I look up to forward thinking people who are open minded and thoughtful. I get tired of the hatefulness in the world. So basically, people who exude compassion to all are my heros.

- Catwoman or Superwoman? Hmmm, not really inclined to chose favorites.

Welcome to the board :) Your job sounds very fulfilling. It must be awesome to work for a non-profit. What do you plan to do with your grad degree in sociology?

Thank you for the Welcome!

I am 99% sure than my masters will immediately lead into a PhD Program next fall. The big question is that of "where"?

Ultimately, I want to teach and do research. I'll get there someday.

And yes, my job is fulfilling for the most part. I love it and the cause I work for (reproductive freedom), but it also leads to burn-out as well.

Thanks again. I look forward to getting my three posts so I can meander around the message boards.

I've always wanted to volunteer with Planned Parenthood but I never have the time to devote to it. I'd also like to get my Ph.D. but I have no plans to teach. It's really because I am an academic snob. Good luck in finishing your MA and getting accepted in a program.

Wow, I like how thorough you were in introducing yourself.
As a fellow graduate student/worker, I can sympathize with the amount of time you must spend in front of the computer.
