Hi. i'm tori, in the seattle area (highschool in minneapolis in the 70s, gradeschool in n.y and various other places before gradeschool). i'm thinking i should have an alias, i'm not sure how much personal info i like to disclose. but i like my name!
i've been a feminist since i was about 8 yrs old. i want to post on the reading bb but have to have 3 posts first. so i guess this is number 1. thanks for reading.

sorry that wasnt too personal, but heres more: i found this blog as a link from elastic waist .com which is enjoyable but i especially loved reviewing the other blogs they linked to.
the funnest thing i discovered with all this linking and reading today was that there is a restaurant in brooklyn (actually 2 locations) called the chocolate room. i think i want to copy that in seattle! anyone want to invest with me? i have two other businesses, one for 6 years and the other for 5. they are curves franchises in the seattle area. and we can burn more than 500 calories in a half hour (there was an article about burning that many calories on yahoo news that originally got me to elastic city). which means we can afford a visit to the chocolate room heaven!
curves is why i can walk (i have severe spinal arthritis), why i'm still 90 lbs below my highest weight even though i still have emotional eating binges, and a good woman-centered cultural base. not every curves is the same, because they are all run by different people, but i like mine.

Welcome! I actually just got back from Seattle on vacation. My husband and I went on the "Chocolate Tour". It was a blast. I live in NY and I think we have a chocolate room on Long Island as well in Huntington. The photos from my trip are on the general chat board, I think.

Welcome :) My friends visit Seattle frequently because they work for the circus and they love it there. It's yet another place the hubby and I would love to visit someday. You're so lucky to live there!
