“Stop making excuses. Start making memories”

Via the DTWSIMB discussion list comes this touching video tribute to Rosie O’Donnell. One of her fans created it for her after hearing Rosie say she dreads going out in a bathing suit in public with her kids because she knows how the tabloids will react to the way she looks.

    AMen to this.

I take my kids to the city pool whenever I can during the summer. Or the shore. Or whatever. I wear my swimsuit and refuse to let my body hold me back from any fun when there’s swimming involved! My snide comment to anyone who complains about the “hideous sight” of my “whale” body is that they’d better make the harpoon a big one, ’cause nothing short of that will stop me having swimming fun with the kidlets!

It’s amazing. Except for two things:
    * That girl who said she lost 4637826478326 pounds and now is proud of wearing a tankini. It’s quite depressing that she had to wait that long and endure all the suffering to be able to wear a tankini.
    * The music. I am sick of the background music they use for loads of inspirational videos, because it sort of forces you to awww and cry and such, as if the images weren’t powerful enough. And I’m not fond of Michelle Branch or Vanessa Carlton or whomever that was.

Cyn: Yeah, I thought that chick and a few others kind of missed the whole point of the video. Or maybe they were poorly informed. Who knows. And I’m with you on the cheesy background music.

it was beautiful. i also feel the music and the lady who lost the weight/said she was proud to be in a tankini w/e kinda ruined it for me but besides that i enjoyed looking at the inspiring pics and messages
