We’re back!
The boy and I have returned, all married and our cohabitation now legal-like. We were married Wednesday - two years from the day we first met - on beautiful Mackinac Island, nestled along Michigan’s upper peninsula.
We got married in the front yard English garden of the bed and breakfast we stayed at along the island’s bustling Market Street. Scores of onlookers stopped to watch and then cheered and clapped as we kissed. We then took a one-hour carriage ride in a vis-a-vis carriage reminiscent of Cinderella’s own fairytale ride through the island’s downtown district and lakeside drive. All in all, it was everything we wanted our special day to be, and so much more.
Posting will resume this week, but for now I’m still basking in the memories of the sun dipping gracefully into a lake ablaze, of the earthy smell of dew on grass and the rhythmic clip-clopping of horses through shady glens.
