In case you missed it, Talk of the Nation’s Science Friday featured a discussion with author Gina Kolata today. Kolata, as many who frequent this blog already know, recently released her book Rethinking Thin: The New Science of Weight Loss–and the Myths and Realities of Dieting. I only caught the last twenty minutes of the discussion, and my furious redial attempts were met with busy signals, but the most important point I think Kolata got out was that multiple studies indicate it’s fitness, not fatness, which is most beneficial to good health.
